Bono Consulting has prepared the site engineering plans for numerous lake homes in Northern Wisconsin. The engineering design focuses on water quality of the storm water discharge, erosion control, and determining elevations for the home entryways on lots that generally drop off to the water.
Boulder Junction, WI
Due to size of new house proposed on the bluff of the Manitowish River, a stormwater mitigation plan was required by Vilas County. We proposed a plan to collect runoff from the new imperious area including runoff from the roof area. A storm sewer system was designed to route runoff to a new rain garden promoting infiltration into the ground instead of allowing runoff to flow overland down the bluff. The rain garden was sized per Vilas County requirements and designed with native plantings to promote infiltration and look aesthetically pleasing.
Minocqua, WI
The project design was for a new, large house just off the top of the bluff on Lake Minocqua. Grading was a challenging design as a large, attached garage protrudes from the front of the house and the clients wanted level landscaping along the perimeter of the front of the house. Due to the size of the house, a rain garden was required per Oneida County requirements to help infiltrate runoff form the impervious area. The rain garden was designed to be in an area of minimal impact for the owners, while also utilizing native plantings for pleasing aesthetics.
