Athletico hired Bono Consulting to provide topographic survey, site designs, MWRD permitting, and construction inspection for a new medical office building in Skokie, IL. Because this was a commercial development, stormwater detention was required. The Village of Skokie runs on a combined sewer system, so our design included water-tight concrete pipes under the parking lot for detention.
One of our biggest challenges was to save as much of the existing pavement as possible to control construction costs while meeting the required pavement slopes for ADA access. We successfully met those requirements, which are particularly important at a physical therapy facility, while keeping the costs down for our client. This new medical office construction has been completed and is open for business.
