Bono Consulting helped design and permit a new 3-mile trail through Brunner Family and Fox River Shores Forest Preserves, along with a new parking lot and trailhead. We had the opportunity to work with the forest preserve staff to keep construction and permit costs at a minimum while also keeping the environmental impact low. We designed the path to limit floodway, floodplain, and wetland impacts with those associated costs. To save construction costs and limit materials used, we utilized existing stream crossings. We also coordinated with the Longmeadow Parkway project to avoid touching any archeological areas. Overall, the project was a success and is open to the public.
