Bono Consulting was employed to provide engineering design for a new single-family house in Oak Brook, IL.
We aided in the coordination for the project, as the property has over twenty feet of fall from the rear to the front, forcing the house design to have multiple levels of foundations and walk-out basements. We also needed to ensure that the designs complied with wetland buffering because there is a pond with floodplain/wetland concerns in the east corner of the lot.
We prepared the stormwater system according to the DuPage County Countywide Stormwater and Floodplain Ordinance. DuPage County requires post-construction BMPs, which on this site was a large underground stone chamber to store and pretreat the stormwater runoff and sump discharge. We also had to add a sanitary lift station and a force main to the site. The property was filled with challenging attributes for design, but we were able to get the project moving and completed for the family successfully and on time.
