Swimming Pool Civil Engineering Services
Serving public and private clients in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Iowa.
Installing an in-ground swimming pool with a deck typically adds between 2,400 to 3,200 square feet of new impervious surface to a property. This must be designed so that the pool deck drains properly and that the proposed elevations tie harmoniously into the surrounding grades. This amount of new impervious will often trigger stormwater detention requirements. We may have to design a surface pond or underground vault to store the storm runoff and then have a storm sewer connection to the sewer main in the road. If the pool is in the floodplain, the pool deck would be floodplain fill that will need compensatory storage. Our engineers will help you navigate the entire permitting process.
