PARK RIDGE, IL – September 29, 2022 – Bono Consulting, Inc. (BCI) a Park Ridge-based civil engineering firm, has been acquired by Sevee & Maher Engineers, Inc. (SME) a nationwide civil and environmental engineering firm headquartered in Maine.
The acquisition extends the depth and range of services BCI can offer its clients in the greater Chicago area and other regions of the country. It also enhances SME’s presence in the Midwest, providing the group with a strengthened platform to strategically grow its business by offering its full range of services to more clients nationally.
SME provides civil engineering, landfill design, site investigation and remediation, environmental regulatory compliance, water resource development, industrial hygiene, and other services to commercial, industrial, governmental, and residential clients across the U.S.
According to SME Vice President Dan Diffin, who heads SME’s civil engineering group, the firm’s pipeline of projects in the Midwest has been growing steadily. “The joining of SME and BCI allows us to expand BCI’s civil engineering capacity, better serve our existing clients, and strategically access markets more fully for multiple SME sectors,” Diffin said.
BCI and SME have been partnering on a number of renewable energy design and permitting projects in Illinois.

BCI will retain its name and operate as a subsidiary of SME. BCI employees will remain at the current BCI offices in Park Ridge and Naperville, and existing BCI clients will notice no changes.
