New Single Family Home with Basement - completely removed from the flood plain
Bono Consulting has provided engineering designs and construction assistance on numerous projects where the structure was completely removed from the floodplain. The compensatory storage area is constructed first, then the fill is placed around the limits of the proposed structure. Then this newly constructed area is removed from the floodplain through the LOMR-F process. After the LOMR-F is obtained, the construction can begin and the house is no longer classified as a floodplain property.
