Parking Lot Expansion for Valley Honda of Aurora – Bridge Decking over Detention Pond
Bono Consulting Civil engineers were retained by Valley Honda to design the site plans for the Parking Lot expansion and engineering associated with the addition for the new service bays. The site was landlocked by an existing detention pond that bordered the south side of the parking lot. This detention volume could not be reduced and had to be increased due to the additional impervious surface. So the most economical way to achieve this was to design a bridge deck made of prefabricated concrete panels and extend it out over the existing detention pond. The site designs also included relocating a water main and designing a new stormwater collection for the parking lot. The site designs also reconfigured the lot to keep surface water from flowing into the new garage door of the new service bay.
